KATO Ryota
Advocacy Organizer
I was born in Yokohama in 1975 and registered my birth in Tokyo. I grew up near Nagoya and now live in Kyoto. After working for companies, local governments and non-profit organisations, I have been involved in advocacy as an NGO in various fields, from local issues to international cooperation, in order to create policies, legal systems and societial changes that make use of people's perspectives, participation and dialogue.
As a Christian of Congregationalist background, I seek my faith identity in my denominational roots and am involved in the ecumenical movement. I am also interested in the reaffirmation of Christianity as the roots of NGOs and the relationship between NGOs and the Church today.
